Susan of mighty acorns blog fame challenged me to answer some questions on food and cooking. |

1. What, or who inspired you to start a blog?
My very good friend, Irene. I like to write stuff. I love the challenge of finding the words to express complex concepts in simple, understandable terms. Irene saw this in me and encouraged me to blog. Thanks Irene.

2. Who is your foodie inspiration?
Always Jamie. Hell yeah. I have a bunch of his books and his recipes are always full of flavour and not too complex. I like the way he communicates.

3. Your greasiest, batter-spattered food/drink book is?

4. Tell us all about the best thing you have ever eaten in another country, where was it, what was it?
I just et a beef cheek on cauliflower mash at a Spanish tapas restaurant in Melbourne (not exactly another country, but what the heck). The beef was so tender you scooped it apart with a spoon. We booked the table a month in advance and had to go on a waiting list and scored a table.
6. What is the one kitchen gadget you would ask Santa for this year (money no object of course)?
a robot that cleans up after me

7. Who taught you how to cook?
the Ole Lade gave me a good grounding. And then I started taking notice of what I ate and took to creating my own tasty and healthy meals using advice, tv shows and recipes

8. I’m coming to you for dinner what’s your signature dish?
Chicken tagine followed by home made chocolate ice cream. Also Jamie's Cheeky Chilli Chutney, and anything with lots of fresh veg from our garden. I love the challenge of making new recipes to use a glut of fresh produce from the garden.
