i just made ice-cream!

this is my ice cream maker. it's red! that middle bit goes in the freezer for 24 hours before use.
when i turn it on, it spins around and a paddle inside stirs the mixture.

here's the ingredients for vanilla ice cream.
a word about vanilla bean paste - always, always use this
stuff. NEVER use vanilla essence. the difference in the quality of taste
will mean once you try this, you'll never go back

this is what it looks like when the machine is churning.
the outer silver rim here is turning, and the red paddle stays put.
You can see the icecream thickening up as it freezes against the
sides of the bowl.

now the ice cream has finished churning, and I have
turned off the machine and removed the internal paddle

Spooning into a 1 litre container. Ready to eat.
Or keep in the freezer.

tester!  Yes!  the topping is a mixture of
hazelnut meal, dark chocolate and coffee.

Vanilla Ice Cream
1 egg
1/2 cup milk
3/4 cup sugar
1 tsp vanilla paste (or extract)
2 cups cream

Place egg, milk, sugar and vanilla in a blender and blitz until the sugar dissolves. Pour in cream and blitz until just combined. Then, with the machine running, pour mixture into the machine and process till desired consistency.
